Controlling Surrender
Oil on Canvas
24” x 48”
after a long commute home, syd finds herself back at her grandparents home late in the
evening, drinking wine and sliding across the tile floors in their socks.
control + surrender, quite a dichotomy. two words that you wouldn’t think one would pick to describe themselves. a depiction of this contradiction: the release of water and the hand grasping to keep the water in.
the beauty of releasing control has bloomed beauty in abundance.
and the final piece; two butterflies
representing two beautiful grandmas that have now since passed.
